On Thursday, July 28, the Kayal Orthopedic Group—Robert Kayal, MD, Jeff Pope, MD, and Chad Rappaport, MD—led a talk about important orthopedic issues and news for older adults at Senior Source, located at The Shops at Riverside in Hackensack, N.J. Topics discussed included current concepts in hip and knee replacement surgery; shoulder and knee injuries in the elderly; and the 10 most common geriatric foot and ankle problems.

CareOne at Hamilton Administrator Rosemarie Valentine, RN, LNHA, has received the American College of Health Care Administrators’ (ACHCA) Facility Leadership Award. This award, given annually, recognizes a nursing home administrator who demonstrates a dedication to the highest health care standards.
Facility Leadership Award winners are chosen based on skilled nursing facility resident data from the MDS, as well as adherence to rigorous patient care and life code standards. The nursing facility must have an average occupancy rate of 90 percent or more.
Valentine has served as the administrator of CareOne at Hamilton since 2008. She previously served as the CEO of Angela Jane Pavilion Acute Rehabilitation Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa., and has held several nursing and administrative positions in New Jersey and Pennsylvania throughout her 37-year career.
“I am very humbled by this acknowledgment and share this award with my distinguished colleagues at CareOne,” Valentine says. “The aesthetics and amenities of CareOne at Hamilton are second to none, but they are just mortar and brick.
