Donating food to the hungry. Collecting toys for the holidays. Walking for a good cause. These are all examples of activities organized by CareOne Cares, a community service program formed by CareOne administrators in northern New Jersey.
CareOne Cares goes beyond the walls of CareOne centers to support our neighbors in the Bergen County and Wayne areas. It’s a way to give back to those communities and lend a helping hand to those who need it.
Each month, two administrators work together to coordinate a region-wide event that involves associates, residents and their friends and family members. In November 2010, for example, CareOne centers collected food to send to the Center for Food Action in Mahwah, N.J. before Thanksgiving. In October, associates and their family members gathered in Van Saun Park for the Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk. And CareOne Cares closed out 2010 with a toy drive organized in conjunction with Paramus Boy Scout Troop 205.
An added bonus: In addition to serving our communities, the CareOne Cares program is a tremendous team-building experience among our administrators.
